About Moses + Lara Nadel

“The act of ‘making’ is the adventure.” Moses + Lara Nadel are artists with the drive to create. 

As One-half of the MOSES NADEL team, Moses is hands-on in the creation and design of their products. He manages production, technical fabrication and the machinery side of the business. Moses started his creative path deeply immersed in photography and a love of storytelling. Seeking unique moments, capturing them with photography, and telling the story with photojournalism led him around the world. His discoveries along the way, like the sewing machine, transitioned into the desire to create adventure-ready carry-all bags.

From childhood, Lara has had an artistic vision and a passion for design. Having grown up in a style-conscious environment, she developed an independent jewelry business early on while simultaneously getting an education in art and architecture. She received an MFA degree from RISD, which led her on many creative journeys through NYC. As the other half of the team, she is also hands-on in creation and design, and she handles business and brand development, Styling And presentation and The Intricacies of technical construction. 

Their initial meeting was in 2012 when Lara discovered Moses’s work in a shop in Hudson, NY, where they were both selling their accessories. “We spoke the same language” is how Lara describes her curiosity about Moses’s bags, as the friend accompanying her secretly messaged him, requesting a studio visit the following day. It was kismet. Moses + Lara’s initial dialogue was about working together, and is the origin of the path they continue to navigate. They combined skill sets and each had a unique way of making and interpreting ideas to create products. For Moses and Lara, collaboration was a desire that led them to a common language. MOSES NADEL is a reflection of who they are in this world and the nature of their creative vision. Moses and Lara’s relationship is tied into the work as a culmination of expression, artistic process, and creative vocabulary. “We are intertwined: a modern creative love story.”
